GCSE Results 2018 Rss

Congratulations to all our students and staff on another fantastic set of GCSE results.

This year, we had over 3,000 GCSE students. 71% achieved at least a Grade 4 in English and maths, an increase of three percentage points on last year. 33% achieved at least a Grade 4 in all of their English Baccalaureate subjects.

We are delighted that, across the Federation, nearly 700 entries were awarded the new ‘super’ Grade 9, equivalent to an old A**. Across the board, 11% of our students achieved at least one Grade 9 and five of our students did so in every subject.

Our SWIRE Chinese Language Centre is now teaching Mandarin to our young people from age 4. This year, for the first time, two of our academies entered students for Chinese Language GCSE. Almost 90 students took the qualification, with 92% gaining a C grade or higher and 39% gaining an A or A*.
