Harris Federation staff complete the London Marathon

Congratulations to our brilliant staff members who completed the London Marathon on Sunday 21st April 2024 to raise funds for the Harris Federation. 

Lloyd

Lloyd is a PE Teacher at Harris Boys' Academy East Dulwich who has raised funds to develop a sensory space for students at Boys' East Dulwich. 

I am delighted to be running the upcoming London Marathon for the secondary school that I work at in South London. Having spoken to the amazing inclusion team at my school, we have come up with a great idea to create a sensory room with the money that is raised from me running the marathon. The sensory room would be created for pupils to have a quiet space to take time of out lessons, receive therapy and detach from the daily stresses of school life.

Jessica

Jessica is an MFL Teacher at Harris Academy Beckenham who has raised funds to help us continue our vital work in transforming education across London and Essex. 

This is a personal challenge I have wanted to undertake for the past 6 years so I am extremely happy (if a bit scared) to be able to do it in London and have the support of my friends, family, colleagues and school behind me! I will be raising money for two very worthy causes Harris Federation students in need and Young Minds. Emily

Emily is Head of Primary at Harris Academy Tottenham and her fundraising efforts will be going towards students helping some of the most vulnerable students at Tottenham. 

I am running the London Marathon in aid of my school; Harris Academy Tottenham. I am proud to be the Head of Primary and have been working for Harris Federation for over 10 years. As I embark on my 8th Marathon, I am excited to raise funds for our amazing school in order to support children, families and staff.

We're so proud of all three of these brilliant staff members, and grateful that the funds they've raised will go a long way to support the young people in our academies. Thank you!
